Where It All Went Off the Rails (In the Best Way)

One late autumn night in Silicon Valley, the wheels came off, the ideas hit and the reality got loud. We were reluctantly at some bar overrun with button-down bravado, rolling our eyes at the performative ass-kissery and having a damn fun, filter-free mockfest among ourselves.

And we got to talking about tech and who gets to build the empires and who doesn’t.

It’s still not women or underrepresented folks. But hey, probably just a fluke. And some guy named Connor is probably fixing it, right? That checks.

Frustration to Foundry 

We could have kept circling. Or we could create.

Create something big to help the overlooked get loud. To work against the raw deal being served up in tech.

Overlooked founders aren’t just missing from the narrative. They’re often missing from funding rounds and accelerator programs. And they’re typically not in the rooms where opportunities get handed out.

So we created Sabertooth Ventures

A startup foundry and content studio for the kinds of founders who are often underestimated, underrepresented and left out of the usual rooms. We partner with early-stage companies across consumer tech, AI, commerce, media and entertainment, and next-gen consumer products. Our focus is on those with sharp ideas and lived experiences.

We support these founders with operational expertise, quantitative research, marketing and connections to people who move capital and companies forward.

We Wrote a TV Comedy First. Then a Business Plan.

Then we thought: what if we supported real founders - and told a white-hot comedy that made people sit up and take notice? Sometimes, fiction can be the catalyst to real-life change.

So yeah, we started writing a TV comedy. Not just any show. One where a woman founder finally wins. The road is long, the hilarious bias is everywhere, but the success is real.

A show about a brilliant and unconventional woman who builds an empire while navigating the “well-actually” moments, exhausting gender dynamics and all the euphoric highs and gutted lows of startup life.

With so much hype around female founder stories ending in fraud or failure, from cautionary tales to clickbait exposés, we wanted to tell something else.

Something that entertains, inspires, holds a mirror to reality and gets people talking.

What about a smart, bold and perfectly imperfect woman who shatters every norm, makes it to the top and kicks the damn door off? She’s funny, authentic, a bit messy and impossible not to watch. She’s a true Sabertooth.

So what's a Sabertooth? 

Glad you asked. Sabertooths don’t blend in.

They move differently.

Fierce. Agile. Instinctive. Symbols of strength and resilience. They adapt in ways others can’t.

Just like the founders we support. People who navigate tough environments designed to keep them out, leading with purpose, authenticity and an unwavering refusal to compromise who they are. 

The startup world has become too comfortable backing certain types of founders solving certain types of problems. That eventually comes at a cost.

We’re missing out on categories of innovation from people who see different problems because they’ve lived different lives.
